CBA Wrestling Reception

Join us this at the Belmar Fishing Club as we come together as a community to raise money for the Wrestling Program for the upcoming 2025-2026 season!

This year we will hear from CBA alumnus Alex Nini ‘24 as he reflects on his time at CBA and how his four years in the Wrestling Program has helped him succeed in college and on the World stage as he just finished 7th in Bulgaria.

We will also be joined by Rutgers Wrestling Head Coach Scott Goodall. Scott is the winningest coach in program history with 235 career dual victories “On the Banks”, head coach Scott Goodale has turned Rutgers wrestling into one of the top teams in the country since he took over on July 31, 2007.

Since Goodale took over the program 18 years ago, the Scarlet Knights have produced the program’s first two individual national champions, six individual conference titles, 19 All-Americans in the past 11 seasons, multiple All-Americans at seven of the last nine NCAA Championships, and since 2009, have earned two top 10 finishes and 13 top 25 finishes in the final NWCA Division I Coaches Poll.

We will also hear from our own head coach Coach Billy Ashnault on the highlights from last season and look at head to this season! Current wrestler _ will also be speaking to the group sharing how wrestling is shaping him into a mature young man on and off the wrestling mat!

All proceeds from this reception will support the Chesney Fund. The Chesney Fund provides resources to send the team to out of state tournaments such as Escape the Rock and to the State Final tournament held each year in Atlantic City. The Chesney Fund also contributes to allowing our sub-varsity wrestlers to compete in in-state tournaments which allow them to hone their craft and for them to one day crack the varsity line-up.
